Summary

On November 11 and 12, 1957, in Sudehobamba, Peru, a civilian worker reported observing an object with the appearance of a balloon, although too high to identify. The object was visible two hours a day and shined very brightly at night. It was observed for a period of two weeks. The object was also tracked by a native German observer at a weather station in the mountains between Cajamarca and Succhabamba, reportedly between 75 and 77 degrees latitude. A manager from a mining company near Cajamarca and others also sighted the object. Since the advent of Sputnik I and II, there has been a rush of flying objects sighted within Peru. An attempt is being made to get accounts from other mentioned eyewitnesses. The Air Force evaluation is listed as unknown.
