Summary
On November 6, 1957, multiple witnesses across the northeastern United States reported an unusual aurora display featuring red glows. The sightings occurred on the night of November 6 and Thursday morning. Witnesses at locations including Belleville, Michigan; Mecca, Indiana; Emerson, Indiana; Grangeburg, New Jersey; Walden, New York; Marietta, Georgia; Durham, North Carolina; Bronx, New York; and other locations reported seeing the phenomenon for durations ranging from 1 to 30 minutes. The Air Force investigation examined these reports.
