Summary

On November 6, 1957, military personnel at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey reported a white light oscillating and moving slowly at 7:02 a.m. The observation lasted 10 minutes and was made by military sources. An astro check with records and observatories indicated an Aurora Borealis display was occurring in that area at that time. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably Aurora Borealis. On the same date, a civilian in the Bronx, New York reported a clear shaped white object with a red tail observed for 4 minutes. The official evaluation for this sighting was marked as Probably Astronomical.
