Summary

On October 1, 1954, at 8:03 a.m., military personnel at Olmstead Air Force Base in Pennsylvania observed one object during daylight hours. The sighting lasted 3 to 5 seconds. The object was round with a blue fire trail and moved at fast speeds. It passed in front of an aircraft from 10 o'clock high and proceeded down in front of the nose of the aircraft. The Air Force concluded there was insufficient data for evaluation. The description of motion was inconclusive. The object may have been a meteor or a jet aircraft.
