Summary
On August 18, 1958, at 7:52 p.m., a bright orange object about the size of a pinhead was observed at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. The object had a round shape similar to the head of a pin, was 18 inches away, and was bright orange in color. No exhaust or vapor was visible. The sighting lasted 23 minutes and involved one object. A civilian engineer at NSA Signal Labs witnessed the event. The object's course was unknown, and it moved at a constant 30 degrees per minute. Weather conditions were clear. An intelligence officer noted the possible connection to aircraft exhaust glow. The Air Force evaluation was unknown.
