Summary

On February 11, 1955, near Okinawa in the Ryukyu Islands, the crew of a military C-124 transport reported an object. It was yellow or amber in color and shaped like a jack-o-lantern. They saw it at about 25,000 feet.

The crew estimated its speed at about 1,000 miles per hour. No markings were seen on the object.

The Air Force noted the crew was reliable and the weather was good. Even so, because the duration and other details were missing, the case was carried as insufficient data and listed as unknown. It is recorded under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
