Summary

On October 9, 1957, at 12:04 a.m., a civilian in Brentwood, Long Island, New York reported seeing a star-like white object about the size of a pea. The witness heard a deep roaring sound from inside a garage accompanying the light. The object moved from west to southwest, approximately 90 degrees initially then 50 to 80 degrees, and was seen above the house. The sighting lasted 10 seconds. The object disappeared and possibly faded in brightness. Weather was clear. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as unidentified.
