Summary

On January 16, 1957, in Laguna, California, a GOC observer reported a red, round, pea-sized object observed to the east, southeast at about 30 degrees elevation. The object did not disappear in position and appeared to circle. The observation was still in sight at the time of filing. A large number of people witnessed the object definitely as a star. The circling motion was probably due to binoculars which gives appearance of movement. The Air Force evaluation was Astronomical.
