Summary
On February 26, 1962, near Kotzebue, Alaska, several witnesses reported two round lights in the night sky. The witnesses included six civilians plus an Army private, and the report was ground-visual. The objects were bigger than a star. One looked red and the second looked bluish. They moved in trail about 30 seconds apart on a course from south-southwest to north-northeast. The sighting lasted about 5 minutes and the sky was clear. The Federal Aviation Agency and the regional air defense command reported no air traffic, and there was no balloon activity. Because of the lack of air traffic, the Air Force record card classed this case as unidentified.
