Summary

On May 23, 1954, a civilian in Kansas City, Missouri reported seeing two shimmering objects moving in a westerly direction. The sighting lasted four minutes. No sound was heard. The witness reported no estimates of speed or altitude and no other observers were present. The objects were observed from the ground. No photographs were taken and no physical evidence was recovered. The Kansas City municipal tower reported seeing two white objects at 7:52 p.m. moving in a northerly direction. The Kansas City viaduct tower could find no sound and no altitude. The weather was clear and visibility plus surface winds were noted. Scattered 25,000 feet visibility 15 plus surface winds 9 miles. The Air Force concluded there was insufficient data for evaluation, noting possibly aircraft but insufficient data for conclusion.
