Insufficient Data

Summary

On May 17, 1958, a civilian observed an unidentified object 23 miles southeast of Belle Glade, Florida at 1:05 p.m. The witness, a truck driver traveling with his son on U.S. Highway 441, reported a long cigar-shaped object about the size of a basketball. The object was dull orange, turning to glaring white as it changed direction. It had a broad rear tapering to a pointed front with a spotlight at the front. When it turned vertical, the object appeared triangle-shaped. When the spotlight was directed at the object, it climbed steeply and disappeared. The sighting lasted three minutes. The witness and his son were on an airboat in a swampland area. The Air Force concluded there was insufficient data for analysis.
