Summary

On September 14, 1956, a civilian in Vincennes, Indiana reported sighting an object at 3:15 p.m. The witness described a very large light bulb about the size of a human arm at arm's length. The object's color was white to red and it emitted white and red sparks. The object was spotted in the north-northeast and moved straight down. The witness observed it visually for 10 to 15 seconds before it disappeared in the north-northeast. The Air Force concluded the sighting was caused by a meteor.
