Summary

On July 20, 1956, in Terre Haute, Indiana, a civilian witness reported seeing one round object slightly larger than the north star. The object was yellow or white in color and appeared at an estimated altitude of 7-8000 feet. It moved from the southeast toward the northeast. The observation lasted forty minutes. The reporting officer believed the sighting was possibly caused by a balloon. No report was filed with the Air Force.
