Summary

On May 20, 1962, at about 0127Z (Greenwich time), a civilian near Silver Grove, Kentucky, reported an object in the sky. The report was filed on the Project 10073 record card, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The witness was outdoors in open country. The object was described as a shiny, solid silver ball that changed color. The questionnaire notes many stars and bright moonlight, and the witness said the object appeared shiny. The witness reported it changed brightness and disappeared and reappeared.

The Air Force concluded the sighting had the characteristics of an aircraft sighting.
