Summary

On June 17, 1955, near 8:22 a.m., a civilian in Riverside, California reported observing one round, reddish-white object about the size of a dime at arm's length. The witness, a fifteen-year-old, watched the object for three minutes as it remained stationary. The object appeared and then disappeared at one point, but then went straight up and disappeared over the horizon. The Air Force noted the characteristics resembled those of a balloon.
