Summary

On June 27, 1960, a pilot boat near Palm Beach, Florida reported sighting a bright red object with a luminous tail traveling northwest to southeast very high and very fast at 8:32 p.m. The object was observed for 3 minutes. The Coast Guard filed the report. An analysis sheet noted the object was probably a missile fired from Cape Canaveral, since the sighting coincided with a scheduled firing for that date.
