Summary

On August 6, 1961, near Newport News and Carrollton, Virginia, a witness reported a lighted object low to the ground. It was circular and roughly half the size of a football field. Its edge was lit with a whitish yellow glow. The witness was too nervous to note the object's own color. The object was reported about 50 feet off the ground and then rose suddenly. The Air Force noted the description suggested a balloon, except for the very low altitude and the sudden rise. The card lists the case as Unknown.
