Summary

On May 3, 1955, a civilian in New York, New York saw a single object. The witness watched from the seventh floor of a New York City apartment building. The sighting lasted about two to three minutes.

The object was flat, black, and circular. It appeared to hover at the end of a nearby cloud bank. It seemed to slowly change shape. Then it moved slightly upward toward the north, away from the observer, until it disappeared.
