Summary

On November 6, 1957, a civilian reported a round object about the size of a large orange with a rusty red color in the sky near Marietta, Georgia. The object appeared to have a tail roughly one yard long and moved across the sky. The witness did not estimate the object's speed. The sighting lasted one minute. The Air Force concluded that Aurora Borealis was being reported in the skies and that this accounts for the sighting.
