Summary
On April 14, 1950, near Port Monmouth, New Jersey, a man driving on Wilson Avenue saw four objects in the sky. The report says this happened in the early afternoon. He stopped his car to get a better look. The objects were flying south, coming from the direction of Keyport.
Each object looked rectangular and flat, about 3 to 4 feet long and 1 foot thick. They were amber colored, with no wings, tails, or wheels. They flew in a loose group at about 2,000 feet, moving roughly 75 to 100 miles per hour. The objects kept changing position quickly, speeding up, slowing down, and shifting left and right. The whole group rose and fell about 1,000 feet in a smooth, coordinated way.
The witness was a military sergeant who was interviewed by an Army intelligence investigator. The sky was fair with cloud banks at about 3,000 feet. The objects were in view for three or four minutes. The Army record card lists the case as unidentified.
