Summary

On March 19, 1955, a civilian witness in Farmingdale, Long Island reported seeing five objects in a dull reddish V formation moving south to north. The objects appeared almost transparent with dark centers and made no sound. The sighting lasted 10 seconds. Investigators noted the objects were approximately 1/2 to 1 1/2 degrees in diameter, moving in a V formation, and almost transparent with dark spots between the two arms of the V. The Air Force evaluation was inconclusive, listing possible bird in flight, possible aircraft or meteors, and insufficient data for evaluation.
