Summary

On June 7, 1955, at 7:15 a.m. local time at Chitose Air Base in Japan, military observers spotted a round white light of moderate intensity moving slowly upward. The object made no sound and left no trail. Witnesses reported the object at an altitude of 6,000 feet, ascending slowly in a straight line until it disappeared when the sun rose. The sighting lasted 54 minutes. One witness noted Venus was in the direction reported at 20 degrees elevation at sunrise. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.
