On June 7, 1955, at 7:15 a.m. local time at Chitose Air Base in Japan, military observers spotted a round white light of moderate intensity moving slowly upward. The object made no sound and left no trail. Witnesses reported the object at an altitude of 6,000 feet, ascending slowly in a straight line until it disappeared when the sun rose.
