Summary

On June 5, 1955, a civilian reported a sighting near Capsan Luis, California. The object was described as long and silver with a nose larger than its tail. It circled and climbed before disappearing as darkness set in. The observation lasted forty-five minutes and involved one object moving upward. The witness was located three miles south of the post and observed the object for four to five minutes before the sky got dark and the object was lost from sight. The Air Force concluded the sighting was possibly a balloon.
