Summary

On November 1, 1957, in Buffalo, New York, a civilian observer reported seeing one pear-shaped metallic object stationary in the sky for five minutes. The sighting was observed with the naked eye during the evening. The Air Force received the report and noted that the reporting officer believed the sighting was the planet Venus. A local fighter pilot also saw a star and believed that was what the observer had seen. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably the planet Venus.
