Summary
On July 6, 1957, a civilian in Buffalo, New York reported a sighting that lasted about thirty seconds or less.
The witness saw one yellow or orange object about the size of a basketball held at arm's length. The object moved from northwest to southeast.
The source later returned a form saying he thought it was a balloon, but the Air Force noted the speed was too fast for a balloon. The record (Project 10073, the Air Force's official file for unidentified flying object reports) lists the case as insufficient data, with a possible meteor or aircraft cause. No separate report was on file.
