Summary

On November 2, 1957, a civilian in Brooktondale, New York reported observing one round, milky blueish-white object about the size of a basketball at arm's length. The object was seen coming over the top of a hill every few seconds and remained in sight for 2 hours and 10 minutes. The sighting occurred at ground level with no optical aid. Weather conditions included clear skies with light mist. The observer was a 52-year-old with ROTC training. The Air Force's investigation noted the description, duration, and flight path but indicated the sighting was probably caused by a searchlight or beacon.
