Insufficient Data

Summary

On June 20, 1963, a bright object was observed at location 33.12N 168.33E in the Pacific Ocean. A military observer reported seeing an object as bright as a first magnitude star in flight at high elevation, course 340 degrees true. Duration of observation was not reported. The object was believed to be a satellite. Flight data showed no reported retrograde objects in orbit, tending to rule out satellite observation. The Air Force noted a possibility of error in direction reported and listed the case as having insufficient data in view of conflicting information.
