Summary

On August 1, 1958, a civilian observer near Rock Springs, Wyoming, about 26 to 30 miles north, reported seeing a bright green object with a neon glow and pencil-head size. The object moved downward behind a hill and was visible for 3 to 5 seconds. One object was observed. The witness was apparently influenced by two hard road and discussed it extensively. The Air Force noted the observation was characteristic of a meteorite. Additional investigation noted the moon was shimmering on the surface at the time. The case could possibly have been a meteorite. The informant stated he had seen similar UFOs on two prior occasions, one in Africa in 1952 and one approximately 25 miles north of Colorado Springs in 1956. The Air Force evaluation was unknown.
