Summary

On April 22, 1960, at Bear Lake Inland, coordinates 19.06N 165.12E, a military observer reported sighting a round object the size of a pea, white with a short reddish tail. No sound was heard. The object was observed at 1630 hours with elevation minus 1.1 degrees. It disappeared at 130 degrees true bearing, 5 minutes above the horizon. Total observation time was 5 minutes. No maneuvers or changes in speed were noted. The object was observed with binoculars at night. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.

10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING: Round object size of pea, white with short reddish tail. No sound. Observed at 1630Z with elev -1.1. Disappearing at 130 degrees true bearing, 5 min total observation time. No maneuvers or changes in speed. Observed with binoculars at night.

11. COMMENTS: On 22 April at 1610Z Radio had heading 082 crossing equator at 165.30E. This would be visible fm reported location and the position given by witnesses.
