1956 to 1964 · 73 documents · 93 pages

Summary

MKUltra Subproject 63 funded exploratory research on alcohol, the extender effect, and psychogenic drugs from 1961 through at least 1962. The surviving paperwork shows a redacted contractor received $5,500.00 in initial funding, approved 30 June 1961. By December 1961, the contractor had received $5,580.00 via check SE 3771. In 1962, the contractor received additional payments totaling $5,640.00 across five invoices (January through December). The project included testing the suitability of alcohol appearing drinks for use as alcohol extenders. In December 1961, the remaining Subproject 63 funds were transferred to another redacted entity for continued disbursement, and the subproject was closed. The work was conducted under TSD/Research Branch oversight.
