Summary

A young person saw an unusual object in the sky over Woodside, California in the summer of 1955. The observation came to light years later, when the now-adult witness reported it to the Air Force.

According to the written account, the object appeared as a bright thing with a misty trail at an estimated distance of about thirteen miles away. The witness described it as having red and green lights and a silvery metal color. The object seemed to move in level flight toward the northeast at an estimated speed of two hundred miles per hour. A round shape was visible, and something appeared to rotate slowly around the object.

The Air Force's written summary of the case noted that the lights and flight pattern suggested an aircraft sighting. However, the investigators pointed to one puzzling aspect: the witness was only seven years old when the sighting occurred, and did not report it until nine years later. No evaluation was recorded in the file.
