Summary

On July 25, 1955, in Washington State, a ground observer reported two objects. The Air Force recorded the report under Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The objects looked large and silver. They faded out of sight after about fifteen minutes. The observers said the objects moved to the southwest.

The Air Force noted the winds did not clearly support a balloon. But two qualified balloon directors said the objects were part of a high-altitude research balloon flight. Based on the description and duration, officials concluded the objects were probably balloons.
