Summary

On July 5, 1956, a civilian reported a round yellow object the size of a baseball held at arm's length in Stanton, Nebraska. The object was acting like a light on a balloon, bobbing and drifting south-southwest. It remained in sight at the time of report. The observer noted the object was still in sight when the report was made. Wind at 10,000 feet was from 360 degrees. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as possibly a balloon.

11. COMMENTS: Description & bobbing indicate balloon. Although winds-aloft were generally from the West, note that the wind at 10,000ft was fm 360 dgrs. Evaluated as possibly balloon.
