ST LOUIS, MISSOURINovember 1954

Unidentified

Summary

On November 3, 1954, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Louis, Missouri, a civilian observer watching a formation of B-47 bombers flying on a south-westerly course spotted a round, flat object to the rear of the last bomber. The object caught a sharp reflection from the sun. It appeared to roll to the north, dropping down and vanishing in about 12 seconds. The object was round and flat, made of nickel-colored unpolished aluminum. It flew from east to west in a straight and level path at an altitude between 75 and 80 degrees. The Air Force concluded there was insufficient data for evaluation, noting the object might have been something dropped from an aircraft.
