Summary

On January 28, 1954, near Seneca Lake, New York, military observers sighted an unidentified object at 10 a.m. and again at 10 a.m. The object was half-moon shaped, about 12 feet in diameter, with a soft yellow color and red exhaust. It flew straight from northwest to southeast with jerky motion. The object was observed twice, with the first sighting lasting about 9 minutes at approximately 10,000 feet altitude. Wind data was not included in the report. The overall duration of the sighting was 9 minutes. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.

2. WX overcast and light snow. Duration jerky flight climb description all in accord with balloon observation.
