Summary

On July 6, 1960, a civilian south of Portland, Oregon saw two objects in the sky. The sighting happened at night, about 5:30 p.m. by one note, with a bright moon. The objects were the size of a half dollar at arm's length. They were round with a flat top and bottom and were a luminous white. They changed from a side by side formation to a vertical one. They moved from south to north, passing overhead, then curved to the northwest over about 45 seconds. There was no sound. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably aircraft. The card said the witness likely saw two jets at high altitude.
