Summary

On December 29, 1953, near Rock Springs, Wyoming, a military air observer reported one object observed for 7 minutes. The object changed color from red to white like heated metal and was estimated at 1500 to 2000 mph. Two objects in formation flew four miles apart with no trail or exhaust. An Air Force C-47 aircraft observed the objects disappearing by going north and another going straight up. The observation lasted 7 minutes. The Air Force concluded there was insufficient data for evaluation.
