# Summary of UFO Sighting Near Rockville, Indiana, July 1952
On the evening of July 22, 1952, three members of the U.S. Air Force at a station near Rockville, Indiana, witnessed an unusual flying object. The sighting lasted approximately three minutes and occurred at 2202 hours (10:02 p.m.).
The object was first spotted to the southwest of the station, traveling toward the northeast. Witnesses described it as roughly the size of a C-47 aircraft, triangular in shape, with an aluminum or silver color. The object had a single triangular fin or rudder, no visible trail or exhaust, and made no sound. Its propulsion system was unknown. When the object reached a point about a half mile northwest of the station, it stopped moving forward and hovered in place for approximately thirty seconds. It then moved north and disappeared into haze. Throughout the sighting, the object maintained a constant altitude between 500 and 1,900 feet.
The three witnesses consisted of one officer and two airmen stationed at the facility. Weather conditions at the time were clear with ground haze and no wind. The file indicates that the observers reported the sighting to higher command, but the Air Force evaluation was marked as unknown. No physical evidence was collected, and no further investigation action was noted in the case file.
