Summary

On February 3, 1953, a city woman in Ramsey, New Jersey, reported an unusual aerial object. She observed an oval object almost half the size of the moon, positioned near tree tops to the south. The object appeared to have mass, was much brighter than the moon, and had a brilliant radiance around its edge. A fiery sparkling tail streamed behind it and was longer than the object itself. The object traveled very fast, at least as fast as a jet plane. The sighting lasted 4 to 5 seconds and was observed visually through an open window facing east from the second floor. The Air Force concluded the sighting was unknown.
