Summary

On October 30, 1957, in Metairie, Louisiana, a civilian observer reported a bluish light leaving a long luminous trail without sound, observed during daylight at approximately 2:15 p.m. The object bore between 223-240 degrees heading northeast in horizontal flight low on the horizon. The object was believed to be at 200-300 miles altitude. The sighting lasted 5 seconds and involved one object. The Air Force evaluation was unidentified.
