Project Blue Book Case File
Poulsbo, Wash, June 1955June 1955
Summary
On June 22, 1955, a civilian in Poulsbo, Washington saw three objects at night. They were seen to the southwest of a Ground Observer Corps station. The sighting lasted about one hour.
The three objects were oval and changed color from rosy pink to blue and back. One was large and two were small. They were at an altitude of about 70 degrees, roughly three miles southwest of the station. They seemed to bounce up and down, and a light was noted going off and on.
The Air Force record notes the objects fit balloon characteristics and possibly were a balloon cluster. An investigation was authorized to check for any link with a submarine sighting in the same area on the same date, and to firmly identify the objects if possible. Results were to be filed once a report form was received.
