Summary

On July 12, 1955, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a civilian reported five objects over a period of about twenty minutes, each visible from five to fifteen seconds. The sighting was seen from the ground. No visual aids were used.

The objects were orange (per the husband) or yellow (per the wife). The first two seemed to travel north and northwest after appearing in the east. The third appeared in the north heading south, and the last two were seen in the east heading east. The observer was sure the objects were not aircraft.

The Air Force concluded the sighting could be attributed to possible meteor activity. The comments note that a neighbor who also saw it dismissed the objects as shooting stars.
