On July 14, 1955, at 3:12 a.m., a military observer at Palm Beach, Florida reported a sighting. One conical white light with tail exhaust was observed moving smoothly to point and blue-white in color. The object appeared at 10 degrees elevation at 330 degrees and disappeared at 10 degrees elevation at 310 degrees. The observation lasted 10 to 15 seconds. The witness was reliable. The sighting was reported to be an observatory sighting in Orlando, Florida on July 15, 2002 (note: this date appears inconsistent with the original date). The investigator concluded that if the object crossed a major portion of sky in 10-15 seconds, it was probably astronomical in nature. The evaluation was probably meteor.
