Insufficient Data

Summary

On June 10, 1955, a civilian housewife in Ontario, California saw a single object in daylight. The sighting lasted about two minutes. The object appeared to be falling.

The object was round and silver with orange markings. It had swept back wings or some type of projection. It turned end over end as it fell. It would fall for a while, then seem to float, then resume its downward course. Binoculars were used. No multi-engine aircraft were in the area, according to the observer.

The Air Force first noted insufficient data for evaluation and said it could possibly have been a payload dropped by a balloon. A later record card resolved the case as possibly a balloon.
