Summary

On May 11, 1954, at about 8:45 a.m. local time in Omaha, Nebraska, a civilian reported one object for about two minutes. The witness described it as flat and oval, the size of a football, and definitely aluminum in color. The object tipped up and down, which the witness said showed it was flat. It first appeared to stand still above trees to the north at about 45 degrees. It then moved west in straight, level flight and disappeared behind trees. The witness was rated as having poor reliability, and the air operations officer offered no plausible explanation. No information conflicted with an aircraft analysis, and the conclusion was probably aircraft.
