Summary

On November 4, 1957, a civilian in Marietta, Georgia reported seeing a shiny object with big unusual light on its right side traveling in a straight path. The sighting was brief. One object was reported. The observer could not provide size, elevation, azimuth, or time. Several unknown aircraft were being tracked by radar in the Atlanta area. The description sounded somewhat like a rawindsonde balloon, but no known balloon launching stations could have released balloons visible in the area. The observer was vague about details and could not entirely comprehend the queries. The Air Force evaluation was unknown.
