Summary

On October 23, 1957, near Attapulgus, Georgia, a civilian observer reported seeing a round orange or reddish orange object in the sky. The object was visible for one minute. It approached from the west, stopped momentarily, and returned to the west. The witness observed the object with binoculars. The Air Force determined the sighting was probably caused by reflection of the sun. The evaluation listed it as unidentified.
