Summary

On August 3, 1955, near 8:50 p.m. local time, a civilian on Benner Avenue in Malden, Massachusetts reported one object. The witness was a housewife. The Air Force recorded the report under Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The object was orange and shapeless, blob-like, about the size of a half dollar. It moved northeast from Malden toward Revere at a speed the witness said was faster than a jet. It made a long downward path going east, then reversed direction and rose again. It was at about 5,000 to 6,000 feet and made no sound or trail. The weather was warm and humid.

The Air Force concluded there was not enough data to evaluate the sighting.
