Summary

On January 19, 1957, a civilian near Liberty, Pennsylvania, reported a single object. The sighting was logged under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The object was white and round and looked about the size of a basketball at arm's length.

The object showed four white trails until it was almost out of sight, then four more trails appeared. It was first seen at 20 degrees elevation and disappeared at 10 degrees elevation while traveling southeast. The object seemed to roll as it neared the far end of its path. It was watched for three to five minutes.

The Air Force agreed with the reporting officer and concluded the sighting was caused by a high flying B-52 aircraft in the area.
