Summary

On September 17, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, a civilian witness reported seeing a round, white object moving rapidly across the sky faster than an aircraft. The sighting occurred in the early night and lasted three to five minutes. The object moved steadily and very fast from north to south on a southerly course, then made a sharp turn heading east to northeast. No sound was heard. The witness was a 24-year-old arc welder. Weather conditions were clear and bright. The Air Force evaluation was unknown.
